When visiting a location, companions will start discussions with each other about the world and themselves.
After a romance is consummated, Isabela, Merrill and Fenris will receive a new outfit. The change is purely cosmetic. Isabela's and Fenris's outfits will change even if you break up with them immediately after sex, and they will not revert to their original outfits even if you romance someone else later (you may have to add Isabela to the party and travel with her for the change to take effect). She is all about profit and will agree with any choices you make that will net you some money. Isabela will also respond well to humour so crack a joke here and there to boost your friendship.
However, the biggest change is Hawke and their relationship to the city. They quickly rise from refugee to the Champion of Kirkwall, moving from the gutters of Lowtown to the blue-blooded streets of Hightown, with their own estate to boot.
If all you want is the game itself, the standard edition is the one to get. Note that the PC version is $10 cheaper than the console version, and that it’s Steam Deck verified. Very exciting.
So it's very possible to be a better friend to someone by choosing the rivalry path, since you're trying to stop them from giving in to their own self-destructive whims. It's not always the most intuitive, but friendship does not necessarily equal doing the "right" thing and rivalry as doing the "bad" thing. It's just Triunfador likely to be the other way around.[4]
No matter if Hawke is speaking to them directly or addressing a third party, companions will react to the players' conversational options in accordance with their own unique contact me personality.
Varric is the brother of Bertrand, the dwarf running the Deep Roads Expedition. He encourages you to find the money to invest in the Expedition and joins your party to help you do so.
Completion – When you leave the mansion you will find Fenris outside. When you speak to him he will agree to join you from here on pasado.
During Hawke's first year in Kirkwall, Dumar put out a bounty for the safe return of his son, Saemus. He was under the impression that Saemus was contact me kidnapped by the Qunari. When it turned demodé that Saemus befriended the Qunari, Dumar was concerned how scandalous it would be if it was found trasnochado that a Qunari influenced his family. Three years later, Dumar summoned Hawke to help with the matter of the Qunari. However, events contact me culminated with the death of Saemus, who was murdered by Chantry fanatics desperate to set the whole city against the Qunari.
Ultimately there is no happy ending for someone who consorts with demons, nor for people who distrusted her so much that they couldn’t let her face the consequences. But Merrill is subversive, tragic, and somehow, still a joy to know.
Anders's romance cutscene queues only if he kisses you at the end of his Questioning Beliefs quest. The essential Flirt options remain available even if someone else is queued (see the quest page for details), and proceeding all the way to moving in will disable all other Flirts (it is not possible to restore other romances by having Anders break up with you; the essential flirts for Isabela and Fenris are gone for good after he initially moves in.
Fenris is an escaped slave you encounter if you choose to accept the optional quest “Bait and Switch”. He is a strong character with strong views. Fenris is a warrior and is very anti-mage. If anyone’s opinions do not reflect his own, Fenris will not get along with them. He is especially passionate about his former master and is determined to track him down and kill him to ensure his absolute freedom.
